LC10k Course Overview
The LC10k runs throughout the Strategic Air and Space Museum and the Mahoney State Park Property. These unique attractions are located in-between Nebraska’s two largest cities Lincoln and Omaha. If you are coming from out of town consider renting a cabin or staying at Lodge at Mahoney.
Start: The race starts just outside of the Strategic Air and Space Museum enormous air hanger allowing you to have quick access to the bathrooms, packet pickup and pre-race Irish music all while staying warm.
From the start line runners will travel around the Strategic Air and Space Museum passing the entrance until they reach the tall grass prairie path. This short cross country section connects with Mahoney State Park. Once runners reach Mahoney State Park they will be inside of one of Nebraska’s most popular and scenic state parks. Runners will head north on the road section passing groves of spruce trees, the ice skating ring, and horse stables. Runners will enter the bike path and make a complete loop around the park passing over wooden bridges, two lakes, the lodge, and the botanical garden. Runners will continue on the path until they pass the theater again. Here runners will make a U turn and get back on the road and head back towards the Strategic Air and Space Museum finishing inside the air-hanger, where the Green Beer After Party begins.

General Overview: Starting in the first wave, the ladies will have 5 ½ minute head start before the guys’ “chaser wave” begins. First athlete to cross the finish line, male or female, will win. If a lass wins all of the ladies get a free drink at the after party, but if a guy wins, all of the lads get a free drink at the after party.

Parking

The first 1,000 registered runners will receive VIP Parking at the Musuem. Registered runners 1,001 to 2,000 will park inside Mahoney State Park. Runners that registered during the 1,001 to 2,000 are required to park at Mahoney unless they are carpooling with someone with a SASM parking area. Please Note: Your Bib Number is does not correspond with the time your registered. Your bib numbers are alphabetical order. Find your parking location
Please consider carpooling no matter what lot you are in. Parking is a big issue.
Arriving Late Please Note: If you show up after 3:55 PM, you may not be allowed to park in the parking lot due to the fact that the race course begins in this area.
Leaving Immediately After the Race: If you need to leave immediately after the race you will need to park in the east parking lot. The west lot will not have access until after the race at 5:15 PM.
Chip Timing/Bib Timing
This race will be bib timed. In order to receive a time you will need to pick up your race bib at packet pickup. Attached to your race bib will be a timing chip. Please make that your race bib is on the outside of your clothes, so that the timing equipment will pick up your time as you finish.
After Party
Just steps away from the finish line, the green beer after party will be held inside the Durham Restoration Strategic Air and Space Museum. The party will be held inside the air hanger with available space for 2000 people. This is a fantastic place to enjoy post run snacks, free massages, and green beer beverages. Bring your id and cash for beer.
Free Massages: Free Massages will be provided to runners on a first come first serve basis.
Awards
Running Awards will be given out to the top 3 lads and lasses and then the top 3 age group winners at the after party.
Age Groups (Lads and Lasses) 19 & under, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 & Up

Top 3 Lads and Top 3 Lasses: $100, $75, $50 Gift Certificate
Top Masters Lad and Lass Award: $50 Gift Certificate to the Top Male and Female Master (Master is 40+)
Awards to the Top 3 Age Group (Lads and Lasses)
Best Dressed Awards: Top 3 best dressed lads and lasses will when a $25, $15, $10 Gift Certificate. Best Dressed will be voted on by round of applause on stage at the after party.
Start Line/Finish Line
The Leprechaun Chase 10k will start and finish just outside the Durham Restoration Air Hanger at the Strategic Air and Space Museum. This unique starting and finish area will provide runners and spectators with easy access to bathrooms, Green Beer After Party, and warmth.
At the start runners will stay inside the hanger, then with a few minutes prior to the start of the race, the hanger doors will open giving access to the start line.
Lodging
Participants are encouraged to stay at one of the 54 cabins at Mahoney State Park or inside one of the 40 rooms at their Lodge. Contact Mahoney State Park at (402) 944-2523 . Look for available rooms and cabins now.

FAQ
Are Dogs are Strollers Allowed? Sorry the course will be tight already, no dogs or strollers.
Is there a gear check? Yes gear check will be at Air Hanger, near the packet pickup area/the start line/finish line. Your gear will remain in the same location inside the Air Hanger for you to retrieve after the race. Note: This area will not be staffed by any volunteers leaving items here will be at your own risk.
I have to cancel my registration, do you offer refunds? Sorry, no refunds or transfers allowed.
Why 5 ½ Minute head start? Based upon several 10k’s, it is a time that will allow both lads and lasses to be competitive. Last year a lady won by only a few seconds.
Why only 2000 people? There is a limited amount of space and parking available at the area.
What is the Weather Cancellation Policy? If the race is cancelled runners will be refunded 25% of their entry fee.
